Just found out a couple days ago that another one of my photos sold! Man, what a GREAT feeling! I know this might sound really stupid but just to know that someone thought my work was good enough to hang up in there house puts a HUGE smile on my face every time I think about it!
Which means, it is time to start taking a lot more photos so I can put a lot more up for sale!!

Portrait Session With The Mercer's
I had so much fun this past Saturday at the Photo session. I only had one family show up (some cancelled and some were a no show). But that was fine with me :o) I got to spend more time with the Mercer's. I work with Amy (the mom). She decided to get some photos of her kids to surprise her husband with (soo sweet!). What was really great about the session was that Tyeler(the son) was just SO energetic and he LOVED the camera and the camera loved him back!! He really has some talent, not to mention how photogenic he is! It was a little hard to get Allyssa (the daughter) to smile in some of the shots but luckily her friend was there to make faces and such behind me, to make her laugh.
What I think I learned is that the natural shots are the best. Not the shots where you have them to sit this way and look that way. They are just so much more life like and have this certain quality to them. It makes me feel like I was really capturing moments in time. Which, if you don't know is a GREAT feeling!
I believe my next step is going to be putting up some fliers in my neighborhood for another 30 minute photo session and charging just a small fee. I will still edit the photos I take a burn them on a CD for them to keep.

I'm Baaaccckkkk!!
Hello again people!
I have so much to say seeing how it's been so long since I last blogged!
Lets see, where to start...Well, a couple months ago my soon to be took me to one of our favorite places, The Great Smokey Mountains! I LOVE taking pictures there! My favorite place there is Cades Cove. For those of you who don't know it is a loop where you can bike, walk (personallly I wouldnt walk around it) or drive your vehicle. You can even rent a horse! There is so much to look at around the loop. I love it! There is so much wildlife to photograph from deer to bear to turkey! I took an amazing shot of the sun setting behind a bare, leafless tree. I absolutley LOVE IT! The colors are AMAZING.
Recentley I (with the help of Chris) found a new place to photograph. Irmo Town Park. We decided that Saturday, September 10th I would do some mini photo shoots. 30 minute free photo sessions. Right now, I just invited my co-workers. I really hope that it goes well. It is more just to get me some experience in portraits.
I almost forgot the best news of all! A couple months ago I entered three of my photos {The Lake At Monticello, Rain Drops on The Green Leaf and The Lonely Leaf in black and white} into the ReStore HeARTist Program. The lady in charge of that program told me that they are doing an exhibit at the 2011 Home Improvement Expo at the convention center here in Columbia. Well, needless to say, I entered my photographs and a week later I got an email letting me know that 1 sold!! :o)
Today, I entered two of my pieces into the South Carolina State Fair Fine Art Expo. All I can do now is hope and pray that the committee approves them and puts them in the Expo then they will be up for sale. The committee will also vote on all the photos entered. I know its wishful thinking but how great would it be if mine got best in show!!
Whoa, maybe I wont wait so long to blog again!
